Rules for Use
- Admission and use of the pool and tennis courts is limited to members who are currently up to date with all Association dues.
- Each member must carry and present upon request their membership card with the current year sticker when entering and/or using the Association facilities.
- Pool employees, lifeguards and CLST Board of Directors members are responsible for the enforcement of all necessary rules including the following and are instructed to suspend pool privileges for any violations.
Pool
- The pool shall be used only during scheduled hours, except by proper permission obtained from the Board of Directors. The pool shall not be used under any circumstances when staff are not present, during rain and thunderstorms, or when air temperature falls below 68 degrees (as reported by the National Weather Service).
- A child must be 14 years of age to be admitted to the pool area unattended by an adult. An adult is defined as being at least 18 years of age.
- Children under the age of 14 are only allowed in the roped shallow area of the large pool unless:
- They are in close physical presence of an adult
- They have a swim tag showing they can swim the length of the pool.
- Regardless of these conditions, it is the sole discretion of the lifeguard(s) on duty to determine whether the swimming ability of any child under the age of 14 is sufficient to be swimming in water above the level of the pectoral muscles.
- Children who obtain a swim tag are exempt from this rule. (See rule #4).
- Children between the ages of 10 and 14 with parental permission may be admitted without an adult if they obtain a swim tag. To get a swim tag, the child is given a swim test by the lifeguards. Part of the test is being able to swim the entire length of the large pool down and back. Swim tags are issued for one swim season for any child passing the swim test.
- Swim tags must be made visible to the lifeguards.
Explanation:
- People under 18 cannot bring a guest.
- Children under 14 cannot come to the pool without their parent, except: If they are 10 or older and pass the guard’s swim test, they may come without their parent.

The Colby Lake Swim and Tennis Association will not be responsible for parental negligence in this respect.
- Those with infections, open sores, or wearing bandages shall not be allowed in the pools. This rule is enforced at the discretion of the lifeguard(s) on duty.
